Why the answer is This Dry Rub For your ribs
Adam’s simple dry rub for ribs or pork loin, chicken, vegetables, and savory bakes will have your folks running back for more. The best way to add more flavor to your dishes is to come up with your own spice blend or what we like to call a flavor blast. Flavor blasts will keep your favorite meals from getting old or help enhance simple dishes’ flavor profiles.
A good dry rub is a balance of sugar, herbs, and spice. You may want to consider a dry rub over a marinade on your meats to get that beautiful sear or to get that nice crust just before juicy, tender meat because a dry rub doesn’t add additional liquid (bon appetit). We’ve done the work of testing out this specific rub so that you don’t have to waste any of those good spices and herbs you have on hand.
I found Adam foraging through our cabinets one day, prepping just before firing up our oven to cook some ribs. He was bored of the typical dashes of salt and pepper seasoning smothered in barbeque sauce. Don’t get us wrong, we love a classic but sometimes switching it up ain’t bad either. In true Adam fashion, he tossed together this dry rub within minutes. I had tasted it before and after we made our apricot glazed ribs recipe and let me tell you, I put that on anything I can now. The flavor blast is next level. It’s amazing what a blend of your everyday pantry staple spices can do!
Need some tips?
What if I don’t have all these ingredients? Will the rub work just as well?
It may not be the exact flavor we were aiming for with this simple dry rub for ribs if you had all of the ingredients but it will work just fine if you have to skip one or two. The beauty of these flavor blasts is that they can be whatever you want them to be!
Is there an alternative to garlic powder if I have an allergy?
We completely understand this as our son also has this allergy! Asafoetida, dried chives, or dried shallots can help replace garlic.
